At Life Community Church, our mission is to love God, love people, and live that out in our everyday lives. We are a Church of the Nazarene that embraces contemporary worship and a deep desire to serve our community with authenticity, grace, and joy.

Meet the Team

Curtis Hight –

Lead Pastor

After 20 years of youth ministry, Pastor Curtis felt God's call to shepherd a church. In July of 2017, he stepped into the role of lead pastor at Life Community Church.

He and his wife Jindy are passionate about seeing lives transformed and are excited to witness how God uses this church to impact the Colorado Springs community.

Dee Dee Hudspith –

Treasurer,

Missions President,

& Children's Director

Dee Dee has been a faithful member of Life Community Church since April 1983. Over the years, she has served in nearly every area imaginable — from bus ministry, Sunday School, and children’s quizzing, to missions, nursery care, church cleaning, and board leadership. Her current roles include Treasurer, Missions President, and Children’s Director.

Raised in a home rooted in strong Christian values, Dee Dee’s earliest memories are of being in church. “If the doors were open, we were there,” she says. That deep foundation has shaped her life and ministry. Her greatest desire is to follow what God wants for her — and to see Life Community Church become a lighthouse in the community, a place where people can find help, hope, healing, and the abundant life that only God can give.

Her favorite verse is a beautiful reflection of that heart:

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Jindy Hight -

Women’s Ministry Leader

&

Board Member

Jindy has been part of Life Community Church since July 2017, serving in many roles — as the pastor’s wife, women’s ministry leader, board member, nursery volunteer, and faithfully cleans the church building each week.

She first felt God’s call to ministry at age 16, though it wasn’t until later in life that she fully understood what that calling would look like. For Jindy, Life Community Church is a place where she gets to make a real difference in people’s lives every single day.

Her happy place is in the kitchen. She runs an Airbnb out of her home and loves baking fresh treats for her guests — finding joy in the little ways she can make someone’s day more special.

Bret Wiebe -

Board Member,

Adult Sunday

School Teacher,

Annual Seder Leader

Bret serves Life Community Church in several key roles: he’s an Adult Sunday School Teacher since 2021, a Church Board member since 2024, and a Seder Leader since 2022.

As a licensed teacher with experience in the classroom and as a call center trainer, he was delighted when he was invited to teach Sunday School.

What Bret values most about the church is the warmth and genuine care he finds among its members—friendships that have grown strong over time in a community he describes as friendly, caring, and welcoming.

Outside of ministry, he enjoys nurturing life in all its forms by growing flowers and vegetables, and he’s passionate about fostering a spirit of pursuit among God seekers.

His favorite Bible verse is John 3:16—a verse he reveres as “the gospel in a nutshell,” recalling his father’s words. For Bret, it’s a powerful reminder that God’s love is the very force that animates all He does.

Linnie Simo -

Board Secretary

Linnie serves in multiple roles at Life Community Church, including caring for little ones in the nursery, decorating the fellowship hall, and serving faithfully as both a Sunday school teacher and Board Secretary. With over 17 years of church service, she sees each opportunity to help as a calling.

To Linnie, Life Community Church is more than a church — it’s a family where believers support and build each other up. She treasures time with her own family, especially her four grandchildren, and enjoys attending concerts with her best friend.

Our history

Life Community Church was originally established in 1961 as Security Church of the Nazarene. In 2017, after prayer and congregational discussion, the church voted to rename itself Life Community Church to better reflect its vision and mission in the community.

Over the decades, thousands of individuals have walked through our doors, encountered the love of God, and carried that love into their families, neighborhoods, and the world.

The church has been a launching pad for dozens of pastors and missionaries, continuing to be a place of growth, discipleship, and calling.
